What is Waxing?
Waxing is a method of hair removal which pulls hair from the root, with results lasting anywhere from two to eight weeks.  Almost any area of the body can be waxed:  eyebrows, legs, arms/underarms, back, feet, chest, upper lip, bikini line, etc.

Waxing is generally performed by spreading a thin layer of wax mixture over hair in the direction of its natural growth, followed by a paper or cloth strip then being placed on top of it.  When the wax has slightly cooled, the strip is quickly ripped off in the opposite direction of hair growth.  If performed correctly, the entire hair follicle should be removed from the root.

An alternative method uses hard wax.  In this case, the wax is applied somewhat thickly and doesn't require a strip.  The wax hardens as it cools, thus becoming a strip in itself and allowing for easy removal.  This method can be beneficial to people with sensitive skin.
